Spicy Canned Tuna Masala Recipe





This is a quick and flavorful tuna dish made with simple spices—perfect with rice, chapati, or even as a sandwich filling.



📝 Ingredients



  • 1 can tuna (drained)
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 medium onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 small tomato (chopped)
  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1–2 sprigs curry leaves
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • ½–1 tsp chili powder (adjust to taste)
  • ½ tsp garam masala
  • Salt (as needed)
  • Fresh coriander leaves (for garnish)






🍳 Instructions



  1. Heat the oil
    Heat oil in a pan on medium flame.
  2. Sauté aromatics
    Add curry leaves and chopped onions. Cook until the onions turn soft and slightly golden.
  3. Add ginger-garlic paste
    Sauté for about 1 minute until the raw smell disappears.
  4. Cook tomatoes
    Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they become soft and mushy.
  5. Add spices
    Mix in turmeric, chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Cook for 1–2 minutes.
  6. Add tuna
    Add the drained canned tuna and mix well with the masala
  7. Cook and combine
    Cook for 3–5 minutes, breaking the tuna slightly and mixing evenly.
  8. Finish with garam masala
    Sprinkle garam masala and mix well.
  9. Garnish
    Turn off heat and add fresh coriander leaves.
