Ingredients
For the Milk Pudding
- 500 ml milk
- 80–100 g sugar
- 10 g china grass (agar-agar)
- ½ cup water
For the Dragon Fruit Topping
- 1 large dragon fruit, peeled and chopped
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 tsp lemon juice (optional)
Method
1. Prepare the Pudding
- Cut the china grass into small pieces and soak it in ½ cup water for about 10–15 minutes.
- Heat the soaked china grass on low heat, stirring until it completely dissolves.
- Meanwhile, heat the milk in another saucepan.
- Add sugar and stir until dissolved. Do not boil the milk heavily.
- Slowly add the melted china grass to the warm milk while stirring continuously.
- Cook for another 1–2 minutes and turn off the heat.
- Pour the mixture into a glass dish or individual serving bowls.
- Allow it to cool, then refrigerate until completely set.
2. Make the Dragon Fruit Jam
- Add the chopped dragon fruit and sugar to a pan.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
- Mash the dragon fruit slightly as it cooks.
- Continue cooking until the mixture becomes thick and jam-like.
- Add lemon juice if desired and cook for another minute.
- Let the jam cool completely.
3. Assemble
- Once the milk pudding is fully set, gently spread the cooled dragon fruit jam over the top.
- Refrigerate for at least 1–2 hours before serving.
- Serve chilled.
